Introducing the New Children and Youth Coordinator: Kate Van Pernis
Kate Van Pernis serves as the Coordinator, Children & Youth at Grace Presbyterian Church. Kate’s part-time, interim work focuses on leading and facilitating the Children & Youth team and programming. She has worked in camping ministry and as a youth director in Wisconsin, and for a decade as a high school educator in Minneapolis prior to coming to moving to Calgary in 2018. When she’s not meeting with students in her other work, Kate enjoys gardening, outdoor music festivals, and takes advantage of getting out to her favourite mountains at every opportunity offered. Conversations about Truth, Healing & Reconcili-Action at Grace and the Mural Project
The Ad Hoc Committee for Truth, Healing and Reconcili-Action invites you to join in informal conversations in the Lounge after worship on Sundays, on May 15 and May 22. During these times, you will be provided a very brief introduction and then given the opportunity to share your thoughts and ask questions as we hear from each other about how God is calling us to respond in light of the red paint on Grace’s doors and the Church’s history with Indigenous peoples.
