Nominate Elders

As part of our ongoing leadership development at Grace, every two years we recruit new Elders to serve the congregation. Election to the eldership is the call of God, through the congregation, for service in Christ’s Church. Since the eldership is a spiritual office concerned with the rule and pastoral oversight of the congregation, only suitable people should be considered. They should be committed Christians, in regular attendance at public worship, persons of sound judgment and upright character, and either knowledgeable or prepared to learn of the government of the church. Please attend on either Sunday, March 12 or Sunday, March 19 for a workshop on how to have a pastoral conversation. Rev. Christian will lead how to shift conversations from the surface level to something deeper - how can we talk about God, and help people articulate their prayers and concerns? Stewardship Spotlight: Helen Willison, Grace’s 3rd female Elder, shares on 43 years of service and generosity in sharing her time and talent in celebration of International Women’s Day

Helen Willison was surprised - and honoured - when her name was put forward to be an Elder at Grace. Women Elders were new at the church, Helen had a full life with three active teenagers, a husband with a busy career, and plans to return to her beloved nursing career through a three-month refresher course at Mount Royal.
