60 Years of Cake Bake – Remembering the heart of this phenomenon is fellowship

What started as a small group of women 60 years ago who used their own mixers and raised money for mission work, has grown to a large-scale production line in our commercial-grade kitchen raising and disbursing hundreds of thousands of dollars to make our world a better place. Volunteer Transformation Story from the Satellite Food Bank
August 2022 Something amazing happened at our Food Bank today. A young woman and her 3 year old child came to collect their hamper. They came from Ukraine just 2 weeks ago to escape the war. Her husband had to stay behind to fight. They are on their own and struggling to get a start in a brand new country. She was ever so grateful and thanked us profusely. These 2 were just about to walk back to their temporary living arrangement with heavy bags when another large family of about 6 arrived to pick up their hamper. Introducing the New Children and Youth Coordinator: Kate Van Pernis
Kate Van Pernis serves as the Coordinator, Children & Youth at Grace Presbyterian Church. Kate’s part-time, interim work focuses on leading and facilitating the Children & Youth team and programming. She has worked in camping ministry and as a youth director in Wisconsin, and for a decade as a high school educator in Minneapolis prior to coming to moving to Calgary in 2018.
