Prayer Painting: Another Step in the Truth, Healing and Reconciliation Journey
Grace is celebrating the World Day of Prayer on Sunday, February 26. (The World Day of Prayer is celebrated on the first Friday in March every year – this year, the World Day of Prayer is Friday, March 3, and is run by an international committee). The World Day of Prayer theme for 2023 is “I Have Heard About Your Faith” based on the letter to the Ephesians 1:15-19. The World Day of Prayer is promoted as an opportunity for active listening, which is the basis of prayer.
Why: The congregation in invited to engage in the World Day of Prayer, and reflect on prayer in faith
What: Grace will introduce a painting about prayer completed by Nathan Meguinis, an Indigenous artist from Tsuut’ina, near Calgary.
When: This will take place during Worship.
Fellowship Time: Following worship, during Fellowship time, all are invited to view a video about the meaning of the painting, as told by the artist, and enjoy bannock and Saskatoon berry tea
