Becoming A Missional Church

A Workshop Hosted by the Presbytery of Calgary-Macleod
Saturday, February 3, 2018, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm
Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church – 4612 Varsity Dr NW, Calgary, AB T3A 1V7

What is a “missional church”?

How is it different from typical congregations? What do they look like in action? How does a congregation begin to move in a missional direction? These are the kinds of questions we will explore at our day-long retreat.

We are privileged to have as our keynote speaker Dr. Darrel Guder of Princeton Seminary and a leader in the missional church movement. During the morning session, he will help us explore these questions. The focus of the afternoon session will be a dialogue between Dr. Guder and a panel made up of people from local congregations (not Presbyterian) that are already working at being missional. We will end with a Q&A time. The event is free. Lunch will be provided (we suggest $10 for a freewill offering to cover the cost).

The new strategic plan of The Presbyterian Church in Canada encourages congregations to adopt a “missional culture.” A core value of our presbytery is that we become more missional. Come and learn how your congregation can move in this direction.

This event is made possible by St. Andrew’s Hall–our Presbyterian partner with the Vancouver School of Theology.

Due to capacity issues, registration will be limited to 100 participants. To register, go to VAPC.CA and find the link on the home page under “Calgary Happenings” or click on the link below:
