Grace Presbyterian Church runs a program for adults who are new to the city and want to improve their English language skills. We offer a safe, relaxed and fun environment where participants can build on their existing English language skills through informal conversations. Our volunteer instructors are there to provide help and encouragement as classmates experience community, make friends, and strengthen their English.
The ELL program offers five sessions from September to May. Each session is six weeks long and includes 18 classes. Classes meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. Please click here to see the schedule for the dates of each session.
Classes are in the Dining Hall in the basement of Grace Presbyterian Church. The church doors are usually locked but don’t worry; we’ll let you know how to get in when you register.
There is also free parking at the rear of the church with a valid parking pass (provided by the church). The pass is valid from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm each day.
The ELL program costs $30.00 per session which covers educational materials and refreshments.
The program is thriving and meets a real need in our community. Anyone who would like to volunteer – one morning a week or even just once in a while – is encouraged to email Julie Clayton at email@example.com or Cindy Stephenson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteering at ELL is a very simple way to be who you are, use what you have and do what matters. And the bonus is, you’ll probably make some new friends along the way!
